Saddle Hill
Karas Region in the Namib-Naukluft National Park, Namibia
Saddle Hill is an inhospitable portion of the wind-swept sandy Namibia coastline. It’s just north of Hottentotspunt, approximately 208 miles south of Walvis Bay and 529 miles west of the Botswana border. The Namib Desert is the oldest desert in the world. Its sand dunes are the highest in the world. They are created by strong offshore winds from the Atlantic Ocean.
I took this photograph while flying over Saddle Hill on my way from Little Kuala Camp to Skeleton Coast Camp in Namibia on June 28, 2019.
